EDGE Outdoors is a powerful initiative created to address the invisibility of Black, Indigenous, Women of Color in snow sports.

Our dynamic initiative extends beyond introducing snow sports—we aim to revolutionize the industry by fostering physical and mental well-being, promoting outdoor engagement, and addressing systemic barriers that have excluded marginalized communities from accessing these spaces. Through dynamic programming and scholarships, we provide opportunities at zero to little cost, making these experiences accessible and inclusive.

We are dedicated to mending the discriminatory practices that historically excluded Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color from mountain spaces. Through partnerships, education, and advocacy, we champion health equity and inspire a new narrative of inclusion in the outdoors.

We are a Black woman founded and led organization.

  • Mission

To attract, retain, and empower Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color, including Trans Women of Color, in snow sports by fostering leadership, exploration, and wellness in snow and adventure sports.

  • Vision

To create inclusive and equitable mountain spaces where Black and Brown women are empowered to recreate, work, and lead.

It begins with a vision. The EDGE Outdoors is a holistic program designed to promote inclusivity and wellness in snow sports while addressing systemic barriers. Starting with an accessible introductory experience, participants advance through comprehensive training that fosters physical and mental well-being.
